Sarnia police continue to be frustrated by the incidence of drunk driving in the city.
There were a couple of arrests over the weekend including a man, so highly intoxicated, that he had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
Constable John Sottosanti says a 57-year-old man was found sitting in a parked car in a driveway at around 7:15pm Friday in the city's south end.
"As the police began to attend the vehicle he had started the car," says Sottosanti.
"Police were able to have him shut the motor vehicle off and as they interacted with him they determined he was impaired and subsequently arrested. He then supplied breath samples at the Sarnia Police Station where it was determined he was over five times the legal limit."
Early Sunday morning police responded to reports of a vehicle striking the cement barrier on the Donohue Bridge.
Police say the vehicle was seen leaving the area and the driver getting out and walking to a local coffee shop.
The driver was located just after 3:30am and police say a 24-year-old man registered a fail on a road side screening device.
He was charged with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood and was released once sober on a promise to appear.
