Plympton-Wyoming's mayor and public works and engineering director have a meeting set with the provincial transportation minister Sunday.
Lonny Napper and David Fielding will sit down with Steven Del Duca in Toronto.
Mayor Napper says they'll be discussing the crash-prone stretch of Hwy. 402 running through his municipality.
"It was a meeting that transpired out of the last time I was in Toronto and he's honoured that. We're looking forward to sitting down and discussing issues of the 402 highway again," says Napper.
Del Duca told the municipality in January that staff will analyze new collision data on the stretch from Mandaumin Rd. to Oil Heritage Rd. Mayor Napper says, however, the stats may not be a true reflection given this year's relatively mild, snow-free winter.
The ministry has also promised to improve winter maintenance on provincial highways after the auditor general found that contractors hired to clear 400 series highways did not do so in a timely and thorough manner.
