Sarnia police have ramped up enforcement at the former Sarnia General Hospital site at the corner of Russell St. and Mitton St.
Constable John Sottosanti says they're responding to public concerns about people breaking into the building, causing mischief, and committing theft.
"Over the last several weeks members of the COPPS Unit have increased their patrols and surveillance of the site," says Sottosanti. "Since January 20, 2016 five individuals have been arrested in relation to the old hospital site with charges ranging from break and enter, possession of break and enter instruments, theft under $5,000 and breach of probation ."
Sottosanti says these thefts have been occuring at various times of the day ranging from the early morning to late afternoon.
