Bluewater Health Sunshine List Totals $7.8-Million

Bluewater Health paid 66 employees salaries totalling $7.8-million in 2015.

Those making $100,000 or more at Sarnia-Lambton's largest public sector employer are listed on the annual "Sunshine List" as required by provincial legislation.

Executives that have retired or left the hospital top the 2015 list including former Vice-President, Medical Affairs and Chief of Professional Staff Mark Taylor at $330,000.

Retired President and CEO Sue Denomy was paid $300,000, Vice-President, Operations Lynda Robinson $180,000 and Chief Nursing Executive Barb O'Neil $175,000.

New CEO Mike Lapaine earned nearly $189,000 as Vice-President Operations and Chief Operating Officer in 2015 and Chief of Communications and Public Affairs, Kim Bossy, received a salary of $143,000.

Late last year the hospital announced new hires to restore its six member top executive team.

There were 46 Bluewater Health employees in the $100,000 club in 2014.

Earlier this month the hospital announced that it's projecting a $1.8-million deficit this fiscal year beginning April 1, 2016.

Over the past three years Bluewater Health has absorbed provincial funding reductions totalling $7-million and has cut about 80 net positions.
