A traffic incident Friday night lead police on a search for a suspect in the Confederation and Alfred St. area. Around 7pm, a member of the Sarnia Police Service COPPS unit attempted to stop a green Monte Carlo with no front licence plate on Devine St. Police say the officer was unable to catch up to the vehicle to get a look at the rear plate. The vehicle was located on the front lawn of a home in the 500 block of Confederation St. and the driver fled on foot. The OPP Canine Unit assisted with the search for the suspect, but officers were unable to locate him. He's described as a white man in his late 20's, thin to medium to build with dark hair. Police say he was wearing a red hat, a grey sweater and dark baggie pants at the time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sarnia police or Crime Stoppers.
