The Bluewater Anglers are looking forward to what they believe will be a very successful fishing season.
Director Brad Armstrong says the hatchery is set to release more than 130,000 fish into Lake Huron this month.
He says after a mild winter they are anticipating an active year on the water.
"Everybody is excited about this spring, we didn't have the real cold weather that the last couple years have kind of made spring fishing kind of tough with really cold water," says Armstrong.
"We're hoping things warm up a little bit more and give us a little more activity this year."
Armstrong says they will be releasing about 90,000 Chinook Salmon into the lake over the next few weeks.
Its the Annual General Meeting this evening at the Point Edward Optimist Centre at 7:30pm.
The Anglers are holding their yearly shoreline cleanup Saturday, April 9 beginning at the hatchery under the Bluewater Bridge in Pt Edward.
The annual Salmon Derby is April 29 until May 8.
