Two new buildings are going to go up at the Sarnia Hwy. 402 Business Park.
Union Gas spokesperson Andrea Stass says construction on a new operations centre will begin later this month.
She says they hope to move out of their current leased location by the end of November.
"We've occupied that space for a long time, it was larger than we needed and it was somewhat dated," says Stass. "We're in the process of building a new, $5-million operations centre in Sarnia. That is going to be where all of the employees that work at Union Gas in the Sarnia area will be based from."
The business park south of the 402 near Airport Rd. will also be home to a new 12,000 sq ft training facility for Local 1256 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
It will be located across from its existing union hall and construction is expected to begin within the next three months.
