Ontario's police watch dog is investigating an incident involving Sarnia police officers and a 16-year-old girl.
The Special Investigation Unit says on Thursday around 6pm, officers responded to a call for a disturbance at the intersection of Capel St. and Exmouth St. When police arrived, there was an "interaction" between the officers and the 16-year-old girl, which resulted in the girl being taken to hospital.
The girl was treated at Bluewater Health for an upper body injury and then released.
The SIU is called to independently investigate incidents involving police that result in death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
