Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for Sarnia-Lambton.
The weather agency says there's the chance of deteriorating air quality Tuesday afternoon. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to increase ground-level ozone concentrations.
Moderate risk Air Quality Health Index values are expected through the day with the chance of short-term high risk values.
People may experience symptoms like increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath under these conditions.
Those at-risk, including people with heart problems, diabetes, children, and the elderly are encouraged to reschedule outdoor activities until the statement is lifted.
