YMCA CHOK Bridge Race Returns Sunday

There is still time to register for the 39th annual YMCA CHOK International Bridge Race on Sunday.

The event returns to the Blue Water Bridge this year after being forced to take place under the bridge last year due to construction.

Spokesperson Stefania Barron says the 10 km run over the Blue Water Bridge from Port Huron to Sarnia begins at 8am.

"We're at about 400 runners that will be gathering in Port Huron that morning and please bring your passport or NEXUS," says Barron. "It'll be a great day to be out and about and cheer everybody on and its unbelievable to see the wide range of athletes that come out for the race."

There is also 5 km run/walk at 8:20am from the Point Edward Casino to Canatara Park and 1 km kid run/walk at the Terry Fox Loop at 9:30am.

To register or volunteer along the route visit raceroster.com.

All proceeds from the event benefit the YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign.
