Online Petition Aims To Stop Price Gouging

Blackburn Radio has launched a petition to stop ticket price gouging.

Marketing Director Aaron Zimmer says the initiative follows the incident with tickets for the Tragically Hip selling out almost instantly on Monday, and then turning up on other sites for more money.

"Years ago you could not do this but all of a sudden now its ok. and we don't feel that's a right thing to do," says Zimmer.

"We're not just talking concerts, we've all seen sporting events too where they've been sold out and to get tickets you have to pay more than what they are worth."

"It's stopping fans from going to see their favourite teams or bands live."

The link is available at CHOK.com , foxfm.com and k106fm.com

Zimmer says the petition will be posted until June 17, at which time it will be forward to Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu to present at the House of Commons.
