I Mother Earth And Monster Truck To Headline Powerboat Festival

I Mother Earth with Edwin and Canadian band Monster Truck will perform at the Sarnia/Port Huron International Powerboat Festival, that returns to the Sarnia waterfront August 12-14.

Organizers say the event pumps about $300,000 into the community and has donated $100,000 to local charities over the past five years.

Co-Chair David McPhail says each year gets bigger than the last.

"Downtown will be alive for the powerboat festival for three full days with the boats on the water ranging in speeds anywhere from 60 mph to 160 mph," says McPhail.

"It's free and the neat part is we have a great thing for the whole family, there's a kid zone and a licensed area, we're pretty excited about what we off the community, this is a great event."

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday night concerts can be purchased at www.sarniapowerboatfestival.com

The Powerboat Festival takes place the weekend after Greekfest which will be held in downtown Sarnia for the second year in a row.
