Agriculture In The Classroom

Learning is in full bloom this week as Spring Days begin at the Children's Animal Farm in Sarnia's Canatara Park.

Coordinator Darren Hakker says it's part of the Lambton-Kent Agriculture in the Classroom Program involving over 450 grade four students.

They participate in hands-on learning that highlights the importance of agriculture and food in their daily lives.

"The kids absolutely love this event," he says. "We know that because it just keeps on growing and growing every year. This is stuff that's built right into their curriculum and this is a great way for them to learn in a farm setting outside the classroom."

The event is co-sponsored by the City of Sarnia, Sarnia & District Humane Society and Seaway Kiwanis Club of Sarnia Lambton and led by four volunteers.
