Hundreds attended a candlelight vigil at Sarnia City Hall Monday night in honour of the victims of the horrific weekend shooting in Orlando, Florida. Organizer Crystal Fach says they want to show their support. "There is still discrimination for LGBTQ individuals and there needs to be more education," says Fach, who is also the Spectrum Facilitator at Sarnia-Lambton Rebound. "We need to ban together as a community to show support to the LGBTQ folks and their safety."
She believes the weekend shooting was a hate crime.
"We need to be honest, this is a hate crime," says Fach.
"Yes, this is a massive, massive shooting, but this happens on an individual basis everyday with discrimination."
