Don't Be Scammed

With various scams more prominent than ever, a free seminar is being held Wednesday on how to protect yourself from being a victim of fraud.

Mainstreet Credit Union has partnered with Sarnia police and the RCMP for the seminar in conjunction with Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Mainstreet CEO Janet Grantham says cyber scams are becoming increasingly problematic.

She says Canadians are scammed out of over $10-billion each year, and over 50,000 complaints are made annually to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

The seminar is scheduled from 3:30pm until 5pm at the Hampton Inn on Venetian Blvd.

All are welcome to attend.
