A fire ban has been put in place across Lambton County until further notice.
County Fire Coordinator Walt Anderson says conditions are very dry and the threat of fires getting out of hand is high.
"The dryness, the wind and the fact that the wheat is all up and ready to come off and we don't want to lose it," says Anderson.
The ban mainly applies to large brush fires.
"Small camp fires and grills are still allowed, just monitor it closely," says Anderson. "We want to try and avoid any hazards."
Anderson says the ban was issued after consultation with a number of county fire chiefs and will be re-evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
Sarnia Fire Chief John Kingyens says rural parts of the city are also included in the ban.
