There's been a change in the principals involved in the redevelopment of the Bayside Centre in downtown Sarnia.
Mayor Mike Bradley says the mall went into receivership again earlier this month after legal action was instigated by Italo Ferrari, the general manager and founder of Wilsondale Assets Management.
Vaughn-based Wilsondale is the original purchaser of the property.
Mayor Bradley says he's been told that legal action has been withdrawn and Gord Laschinger is no longer involved in the development.
"Mr. Ferrari is quite excited about the potential of the mall," says Bradley.
"He toured it again yesterday looking at some possible tenants and also working on the planned grocery store that is envisioned later this year."
Mayor Bradley says it's good news that the legal wrangling that could have forced the sale of the property again has been resolved.
He notes the last receivership lasted three years and paralyzed the ability to lease.
Wilsondale's previously announced development plans include a seniors housing complex, condos, a Davy Jones Quality Meats grocery store, a market square and roof-top patio
