Boys Aged 15 And 12 Charged With Auto Theft

Two boys, aged 15 and 12, from Sarnia are facing stolen vehicle charges after police stopped a minivan in Chatham.

Police say the vehicle had been reported stolen from Sarnia.

The traffic stop was made on Park St. at around 8pm Tuesday after police responded to a traffic complaint about a brown van.

Police say the 15-year-old driver and his 12-year-old passenger are charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

They were released and are to appear in court August 29.

Chatham-Kent police say the youths were wanted on outstanding warrants and were turned over to Sarnia police.
