August was the busiest month so far this year for building activity in Sarnia.
City hall issued 75 permits during the month worth a total of $9.6-million, including $600,000 for a new performing arts stage at Centennial Park.
Through eight months the construction value for 2016 is now over $51-million compared to $47-million at this time last year.
August was also a very strong month for new home construction with 27 permits being issued for single family dwellings. The total, year-to-date, is now 108 compared to 81 in 2015.
