We're being urged to grab our cameras and capture our life on video September 10.
Mayor Mike Bradley says Sarnians can be part of an extraordinary project which will consist entirely of footage shot by Canadians across the nation on one single-day.
"This is an incredibly community based grassroots project to bring Canadians from coast to coast together to show what they're doing, what they're celebrating and what their lives are about," says Bradley. "If you think about it, 10, 15, 20 years ago this would not be possible to engage individual citizens like this." Bradley says the footage is being requested for a two hour broadcast on CTV to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017. "It's from coast to coast. It's a day in the life. That often used to happen with books, where the whole country would stop and pictures were taken on that day," says Bradley. "Because of technology and the fact that everyone can participate in this with their electronic devices, I think this is going to be one of the great celebrations of Canada's 150th anniversary and we really would like to see Sarnia front and centre in that."
Bradley says you can document whatever you like, a wedding, take a tour of your neighbourhood or film while you prepare a family meal.
He says you could also speak about what the country means to you, what you love, what you fear or what you hope for.
