October Campaign Aims To 'Flush Out Cancer'

The Canadian Cancer Society is looking to raise $8,500 locally through its "Flush Out Cancer" campaign in support of breast cancer awareness.

During October, a pink porta-potty will be set up in front of various businesses around the community.

Spokesperson Paula McKinlay says the host company must raise $100 to have the porta-potty removed and taken to another business site of its choosing.

She says last year's event went very well. They raised $7,500, well ahead of the $2,500 goal.

The campaign kicked off Monday at Blackburn Radio and will be transferred to community businesses until October 30.
