A process to name Wyoming's new consolidated elementary school has been initiated.
An ad hoc naming committee, for the consolidation of South Plympton and Wyoming Public Schools, is seeking name submissions.
Lambton Kent District School Board Superintendent of Education Gary Girardi says individuals can submit ideas online through the board's website or in person through ballot boxes located at both schools as well as the Sarnia Education Centre on Wellington St.
"We've had success with this," says Girardi. "With any process, it's good to have set criteria so people understand how it's going to run and how they can participate and then what will happen in order for a name to be chosen."
Submissions will be accepted until November 11. Online submissions can be made here.
Members of the committee will then review the names and rationales and develop a shortlist for further input.
The board will be presented a recommendation for approval at its meeting January 31.
