Celebration Of Lights Seeks Donations Of New/Used Lights

The Celebration of Lights is looking for the public's help to make this year's event at Centennial Park shine brighter than ever.

Committee Chair Bill Suisham says they want to decorate as many trees as possible, but they need lights.

They're seeking donations of any LED lights residents are no longer using or will happily accept donations of new lights.

"I prefer they not be in a big tangled ball," he says. "It would be a lot easier. The one thing we are requesting is that they be LED. We have limited power in the park and the old style with the glass bulbs are dangerous to be working with. I don't want volunteers handling those type of bulbs."

Donations can be dropped off at the Royal Lepage or Magic Reality offices on Christina St., ReMax on Exmouth St. or at Philly Cheese Jakes on Confederation St.

The committee is also looking for residents with trailers who can help move the displays from storage to Centennial Park November 5.

The set up of large displays is set for November 10 and full set up on November 12.
