Record Goal Set For Teddy Bear Toss

Lambton Ford and the Sarnia Sting have officially kicked off the 2016 Teddy Bear Toss campaign.

This year marks the 19th annual event, which helps several local children's agencies including the Salvation Army, The Women's Interval Home and Pathways Health Centre for Children fill their Christmas wish lists.

Lambton Ford President Rob Ravensberg said since its inception the event has collected over 50,700 stuffed toys.

He said they're hoping for another record breaking year and have set a goal of 4,000 teddy bears.

"3,785 hit the ice last year, well in total, so we collect some at the dealership as well as at the radio station so if someone can't make it to the game we'll collect them at both places," said Ravensberg.

He said small to medium sized bears and stuffed toys are preferred and easier to distribute to children.

The Teddy Bear Toss game is December 4 at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena, when the Sarnia Sting host the Niagara Ice Dogs.
