Lambton College Among The Best In The Country

Lambton College is garnering national recognition for its work in the applied research sector.

The college placed first in all of Ontario and third in Canada on a list of the top 50 research colleges compiled by Research Infosource Inc.

The findings are based on data gathered through a survey of publicly-funded colleges and from financial statements, including money received from internal and external sources.

College President and CEO Judith Morris says in 2015, they recorded a 32.7t% increase in research revenue, totalling $7,025,000, up from $5,292,000 in 2014.

"I'm extremely proud of our college," says Morris. "We punch way above our weight in so many areas and this is one of them. We're proud of the researchers, our students, our research department, and all our faculty. The team that drives this engine is really amazing."

Lambton College also ranked first in Canada for the number of paid research students at a medium-sized college.

The college's Research Department was formed in 2007 and since then, has received more than $20 million in funding from federal and provincial agencies.

Last year, Lambton College carried out 104 projects with direct involvement of 99 research students, 34 faculty and staff researchers and 23 co-op placements.
