Attempted 'Kidnapping' Raises Security Concerns At Animal Farm

The Seaway Kiwanis Children's Animal Farm is looking to install security cameras after the attempted theft of a baby goat earlier this week.

A posting on the animal farm Facebook page says the incident has raised concerns about the safety of the animals and a camera system will be installed to monitor the entire site.

Sarnia Police Constable John Sottosanti confirms, that around 7:30pm Monday, officers responded to a complaint.

"Upon arrival the officer was able to locate any suspects, nor was the complainant available any further," he says. "The officer did though, find a small goat inside the animal farm, roaming around, with what appeared to be a yellow extension cord wrapped around its neck."

Constable Sottosanti says the animal did not appear to be injured and it was returned to its pen.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact city police or Crime Stoppers.

Donations to the animal farm can be made here.
