Tourism Sarnia-Lambton says figures indicate an increase in the number of international visitors coming here.
Spokesperson Vicky Praill says 2015 statistics suggest Americans are taking advantage of their strong dollar.
She says there's less incentive for local residents to go to the U.S., even on Black Friday.
"I definitely see more American cars coming to our area from the exchange rate and I also think the campaigns, even yours with the radio, about buying local is also helping and convincing people that shopping local is better than going over to the U.S., and with the exchange rate, typically there's not that much difference," says Prail.
It has been clear sailing so far this Black Friday for traffic on the Blue Water Bridge.
No unusual delays or backups were reported by early afternoon.
