Students Prepare For Another Miracle

It's hope 6,500 bags of food will be collected in the 33rd annual St. Pat's Irish Miracle Saturday.

Over 500 volunteers, students and staff will canvass the city collecting non perishable food items for the needy this Christmas.

Students held a pep rally to boost excitement and educate new participants on the do's and don't of going door-to-door for the drive.

It's turned into a family tradition for Grade 10 student co-chair Lina Dizon-Mapula.

"My brothers have graduated from high school and they're offering to be my drivers this year and some older students that are from my brothers years are coming back and driving and giving back," said Dizon-Mapula. "It's an amazing thing to see."

Residents are encouraged to place their donations outside the door Saturday, to expedite collection between 9am and noon.

Donations help fill hampers to be distributed by the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.
