This year's Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign is in the final stretch.
So far 92.5% or $1.85-million of the $2-million objective has been raised.
In his weekly update, Executive Director Dave Brown says money goes to 20 agencies providing 37 programs and services.
"We do have funding commitments for the next two and half years for our agencies, but we also have money for a venture grant program which are available for non funded agencies who need special one-term funding," says Brown. "We are certainly starting to be confident now of reaching the goal, rather than hopeful. We're still waiting for a couple more industry and a couple more municipal governments and we're hoping it's going to add up to $2-million."
Last year, donations reached the $2-million mark for the first time.
