The Sarnia Sting (17-16-5-0) fell 5-4 to the visiting Flint Firebirds (18-17-0-2) in OHL hockey action Wednesday night. It was the Sting's 5th straight defeat, and 4th loss in as many meetings between the two teams this season.
Troy Lajeunesse led the way for the Sting with a pair of goals, and Jordan Kyrou dished out three assists.
Kevin Spinozzi and Sean Josling also scored for the Sting. Former Petes defenceman Nick Grima, acquired in a trade for Nikita Korostelev and Alex Black, tallied his first assist in a Sting uniform.
The game was tied 3-3 after two periods before Lajeunesse made it 4-3 Sting just 5:37 into the third frame. The lead was short lived however as Flint's Jalen Smereck tied the game 4-4 just 1:01 later, and Nicholas Caamano potted the game winner just 1:08 after that.
Sting goalie Justin Fazio made 30 saves on 35 shots while Flint's Connor Hicks stopped 21 of 25 Sarnia shots.
The Sting sits 7th in the Western Conference with 39 points, one up on Flint and seven behind the 6th place Kitchener Rangers.
