The Sarnia Seaway Kiwanis Carriage House project at the Canatara Park Animal Farm is on track for a grand opening April 5.
A large crane is now on site to put roof trusses in place.
The framing of the structure wrapped up in early January with the help of apprentices from Local 1256 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners.
Union members also helped with scaffolding.
The original Carriage House was built in 1938 as a garage, billiard room and guest room for a Goderich family and then given to the city of Sarnia years later.
The $100,000 rebuild is being funded through proceeds from Kiwanis TV Bingo and the Alix Foundation and with the help of local contractors, businesses and unions.
