City Sunshine List Grows By 48

The number of city of Sarnia employees making $100,000 or more increased by 48 to 237 in 2016.

City Manager Margaret Misek-Evans tops the Sunshine List at nearly $181,000, about $8,200 more than 2015.

Her designate and City Engineer Andre Morin was paid about $155,000, Police Chief Phil Nelson $174,000 and Fire Chief John Kingyens almost $145,000.

There are 101 fire officers, 97 police officers and 22 city administrative staff on the list for 2016 with salary amounts including overtime and retroactive pay.

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, passed in 1996, requires that publicly funded organizations disclose the names of employees paid $100,000 or more.
