Second Period Sinks Pacers In Wallaceburg

The Point Edward Pacers have had a tough time in Wallaceburg this  season, losing for the second time in as many visits.

The Pacers were on the wrong side of a 14-9 score Wednesday evening, dropping their record to 3-3, five points back of the division leading Red Devils.

Both sides managed three goals in the first period before the Red Devils scored seven in the second to open up a four goal advantage heading into the final frame.

Already with three goals, Wallaceburg's Corey Lucier continued his impressive game by scoring three more times in the third period. Lucier has 16 goals and 33 points for the Red Devils this season, three points behind the league lead. Florence's Kyle Dawson scored a hat trick for the second straight game, he has eight goals and ten points in three games. He joined Wallaceburg after the conclusion of his hockey season with the GOJHL's London Nationals.

Callahan Doughty and Cory Burr scored hat tricks for the Pacers, while Jakob Knowles, Jacob Caughlin and Jack Dunn each scored singles. Blain Adams and Lucas Knowles each had three assists.

Up next for the Pacers, they host Six Nations Saturday evening at Point Edward Arena, before travelling to Owen Sound Sunday afternoon.
