The Sarnia Fire Rescue Service will be burning down a house on London Line Friday. Live fire training will be conducted at 2172 London Line, just east of Telfer Rd., beginning at around 9am June 9 and continuing into the afternoon. At the end of the exercise the structure will be destroyed and ready for demolition. The fire service says smoke will be visible and there'll be a large number of firefighters and equipment on scene but the public need not be alarmed. Residents in the area have been notified in advance and the owner of the building has removed all vinyl siding and asphalt roofing material to minimize any environmental impact. The service says live exercises like this provide an invaluable form of training for firefighters.
