Police are searching for a pair of suspects after a gun was fired during an attempted traffic stop on Walpole Island early Sunday morning.
Walpole Island Police were called to an Austin Rd. address just after 4:30am and spotted two people heading eastbound on an ATV. After a short chase, police say the driver slowed down and fired a long gun into the air.
Lambton, and Chatham-Kent OPP, along with the OPP's Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit helped search the area for about six hours but couldn't find the suspects.
Police say no injuries were reported, and there's no concern for public safety.
Anyone with information is asked to call Walpole Island police, the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
