Workers at Express Employment Professionals in Sarnia donated 3,311 lbs of food to the Inn of the Good Shepherd as part of the company's "Brand It Blue Day."
A group of 16 local Express employees and family members volunteered at the Inn on Saturday, June 10, delivering and sorting through over a ton and a half of food donated by 122 local businesses and individuals.
"For the fifth year, Brand It Blue Day allowed the entire Express family to come together to help the communities we work and live in," says Bob Funk, CEO and chairman of the Board for Express Employment Professionals. "As we continue our mission to put a million people to work, we're excited to continue volunteering and serving people in need."
Summer is a difficult time for food banks, with no major holiday food drives taking place and with kids home from school, there is no access to school feeding programs.
