Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu is reaching out to youth to give them a chance to voice their opinions and provide input on issues they'd like to see discussed in Parliament.
She's urging those aged 16-21 who are interested in becoming a leader in their community to apply for the Sarnia-Lambton Youth Advisory Council.
They can fill out an on-line application until June 30 after which the ten-15 member council will decide how to proceed.
"I'm looking for young people interested in providing input and ideas and once the council is formed, we'll meet to decide what forum works best for everyone," Gladu says. "We'll decide how we will exchange ideas, how often we want to meet, and how we will communicate."
Applications can be found at www.marilyngladu.com
Gladu says her goal is to empower youth across Sarnia-Lambton.
"I want to get them engaged in the political policy process and to help them emerge as young leaders across our community," she says.
