'Convo Plate' Addresses Workplace Mental Health

It's called the Convo Plate and it's being circulated among Sarnia-area businesses.

Martina Jackson of Lambton Public Health says an initiative launched in May is aimed at addressing mental health in the workplace.

"The Sarnia-Lambton Workplace Wellness Committee purchased a plate and they're passing it from workplace to workplace, to keep the conversation about mental health going on in the workplaces," says Jackson.

Callister Musico Insurance Group had the hand painted stoneware plate over the last couple of weeks and is passing it on to the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent Branch.

Craig Musico says they set aside time for special activities and discussions geared to the well-being of staff.

"Quizzes in terms of mental health and stuff like that," says Musico. "It was interesting because everybody seemed to have a lot of fun. I certainly encourage people to do it. It had an excellent and very positive impact on our organization."

Any businesses interested in taking the Convo Plate can contact Lambton Public Health.
