Canada Day crowds in Sarnia were generally well-behaved according to city police.
Constable John Sottosanti says the only concerns at Canatara and Centennial parks involved underage drinking.
He says a group of underage drinkers at Canatara were asked to leave and dump their alcohol.
"At Centennial Park unfortunately we did have two individuals that, due to their behaviour brought about by drinking alcohol, were arrested but released shortly after that evening," says Sottosanti. "Other than that it was a very good time and the police are very happy with how everything unfolded and would like to thank the citizens of Sarnia for everything and for having a great, memorable 150."
In total, city police attended 226 calls for service over the holiday weekend including eight thefts, 16 domestic disputes and 18 disturb the peace calls.
As promised Lambton OPP cracked down on speeding. Officers laid 88 speeding charges and recorded eight seat belt infractions. There were also 34 alcohol-related, six drug-related and two marine charges laid. In all, police responded to about 300 calls. About 14,000 people attended the Grand Bend fireworks display but police say there were no significant issues during the event.
