St. Clair Township Ranked Among The Best Places To Live

St. Clair Township leads a local contingent of municipalities to crack moneysense.ca's list of top places to live in Canada.

The list ranks St. Clair 242nd out of 417 municipalities and cities across the country.

Sarnia came in at 306th, Lambton Shores was 346th and Chatham-Kent 324th.

It considers several socio-economic factors, and mentions St. Clair as having affordable housing, low crime rate and good weather as positive factors.

Mayor Steve Arnold says a community can't thrive without everyone doing their part.

"When you look into the heart of the people that live in St. Clair Township, it's just that heart of volunteerism and out of that comes things like the Brigden Fair, our heritage committee, splash pads and things for the children that go on," says Arnold. "We have super people here, provide employment, we have large corporations and small entrepreneurs."

Ottawa topped the list while London came in 79th, Middlesex Centre and Strathroy-Caradoc both placed in the top 40.
