Another Busy Summer Weekend

Doggie Paddle Beach Fest is on Saturday, July 15 from 10am until 5pm at Sarnia's Canatara Park. Lots of fun for the dogs including off leash beach space, play zones and vendors.

Oil Springs will celebrate Canada's 150th birthday Saturday, July 15. Action gets underway at noon with a ball tournament.

There will be live musical entertainment from 12pm until 4pm and then again in the evening beginning at 7pm. There will be a beer tent for the adults, face painting and inflatables for the kids in the afternoon. Fireworks begin at dusk.

The Oil Museum of Canada in Oil Springs hosts its Black Gold Fest Sunday, July 16.

The Oil Museum, which preserves the site of the first commercial oil well in North America, will be offering tours, refreshments, special displays and activities.

The Petrolia Lions Club is hosting a fresh pickerel fish fry at its hall beside the Petrolia arena Saturday, July 15. Food will be served from 4pm until 7pm. Besides fish, the meal comes with fresh-cut-fries and brownie sundaes. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for elementary students, and pre-schoolers are free.

The Forest Legion is serving its summer brunch Sunday, July 16 from 9am until noon, at the Albert St. branch in Forest. Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children under 10-years-old and toddlers eat free.

Dozens of displays will be set up at Hobbyfest at Sarnia's Centennial Park Sunday, July 16. You can get a taste of what types of clubs and activities are available locally from 10am until 3pm.
