Pathways Raises Thousands From 'Sentimental' Event

June's Sentimental Swing Dinner and Dance for Pathways Health Centre for Children was a huge success.

The 1940s themed dinner and dance fundraiser raised $10,000 for the organization.

Fund Development and Community Engagement Officer Tracy Drysdale says money raised will benefit programs and services offered through Pathways.

"We run a teen junction program, therapy pool programs, equipment, therapy supplies, communication devices if they're needed for testing for our clients," says Drysdale. "To let us be able to enhance the programs that we're already providing and to be able to continue them."

Drysdale says plans are in the works for next year's event.

She hopes they will be able to bring a different plane to the community after rides in the "Sentimental Journey" over the city sold out.

One of only ten B-17Gs in the world provided trips over the city for a fee. Money went to the maintenance and operation of the historic aircraft.
