The Sarnia Sting's training camp is less than three weeks away, as the team prepares for another Ontario Hockey League season.
Camp gets underway Monday, August 28 with player registration and fitness testing at 1pm at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
There will be practices on August 29 at 10am and 11:30am, and a scrimmage at 5pm that evening. Another scrimmage is being held August 30 at 10am, followed by the annual Black and White game in support of the United Way at 7pm.
The Sting will travel to London on September 1 to face the Knights in preseason action, and will host the Knights the following night at 7pm.
Sarnia will have another preseason game at home to the Windsor Spitfires on September 16.
A number of fresh faces will look to make their mark at training camp, including 2017 draft picks Jamieson Rees, Alexandre Hogue, Brayden Guy, and Justin McCombs, and import pick Hugo Leufvenius.
Jeff King, Jaden Lindo, and Kevin Spinozzi are no longer eligible to play in the OHL after playing their overage seasons last year.
Last season, the Sting finished 8th in the Western Conference with a record of 31-30-6-1 and 69 points. They were swept by the OHL champion Erie Otters in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Sting kick off the regular season in Guelph on September 22 and will host Kitchener in their home opener the following night.
