Sarnia police have released a surveillance photo as they continue to investigate an attempted robbery early Monday morning at a gas bar.
Detective Constable Sam Sulaiman says it happened just before 5am on Confederation St. at Murphy Rd. He says a lone male suspect entered the gas station and demanded money from the clerk. Police say the male may have been armed with a handgun.
"The male is described as 5'5" tall weighing about 155 lbs, his hoodie was pulled tight over his face and he wore sunglasses also," says Sulaiman.
He says the suspect fled on a bicycle after the clerk refused to hand over any money.
Anyone with information about the incident or who may have witnessed something suspicious in the area this morning is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
