Impaired By Drug Charge Laid Following Crash

A 24-year-old Sarnia woman, allegedly impaired by drugs, was involved in a car crash early Monday afternoon.

Sarnia police say around 1:30pm, a vehicle travelling southbound on East St. failed to stop at a red light at Wellington St. and crashed into an eastbound car causing severe damage.

Police say the woman driving the southbound car was acting in a bizarre manner, displaying quick and uncontrolled body movements and screaming.

Once at the police station, she allegedly caused significant water damage to the cells.

The woman is charged with dangerous driving, driving impaired by drugs, and mischief over $5,000.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Bluewater Health by Lambton EMS for treatment of unknown injuries.
