The North Christina St. and the London Rd. Royal Bank branches in Sarnia will close sometime in the first half of 2018. Sarnia Lambton Community Manager Travis Hooper says staff from both banks will move into a brand new 8,000 sq.ft facility to be built on the west side of Lambton Mall property. "The staff from both branches, the Christina St. and the London Rd. locations, will be relocated at the new build in the empty parking lot north of The Beer Store," says Hooper. "We're looking at a ball park number of between 16 and 20 employees. Once we get there, those numbers could increase, depending on traffic flow and how that looks. Nobody will be impacted from the two teams we have right now." Lambton Mall will build the the new bank and RBC will lease the facility. Hooper says once they get the keys to the new branch, the other two will close but no firm date has been set. The Lakeshore Rd. Royal Bank branch will not be affected.
