Sarnia-Lambton residents are being asked to prepare for programming changes in the event of a strike at Sarnia Library and the Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery.
About 40 library and art gallery workers, represented by unifor Local 65, voted to strike September 11 if a settlement isn't reached.
The County of Lambton says both facilities would close for the duration of the labour dispute and all public and member programming would be cancelled.
Corporate Cultural Officer Andrew Meyer says materials borrowed from the downtown library branch can be renewed or returned in person before September 11.
"Alternatively, patrons can renew or return their borrowed materials by visiting any of Lambton County Library's other 25 branch locations, which will remain open, including Mallroad, Point Edward, Bright's Grove and Corunna branches," says Meyer.
He says materials can also be renewed online by visiting their website LCLibrary.ca.
Meyer says the Sarnia Library Theatre and meeting room bookings would be cancelled for the duration of a strike with full refunds provided.
The workers previous contract expired December 31, 2016.
