Because of increasing need and demand, an additional Walk-In Therapy Clinic is now operational at the St. Clair Child & Youth Services Kendall St. location.
Director of System Operations Craig McKenzie says the clinic will be open Thursdays from 9am until 12pm with the last intake time at 10:30am.
"It's for any children or youth who are struggling with mental health issues," says McKenzie. "It could be for kids who are having problems with anxiety, or issues at school they want to talk about, or more significant issues."
A similar walk-in therapy clinic is offered Tuesdays from 12pm until 6:30pm.
"That clinic has been very busy. In a year we're looking at serving 500 families at that walk-in clinic," says McKenzie. "We encourage people if they can to complete the necessary paperwork on line to save some time."
You can do so at www.stclairchild.ca.
McKenzie says they've reallocated funds and resources to try to meet the needs of families.
