A watermain break on Colborne Rd. left a big hole in the ground Tuesday morning.
The rupture between Hall St. and Rosedale Ave. was reported to city crews just before 9am.
Sarnia's Acting Director of Engineering Mike Berkvens says it's the second time the 20 inch watermain has burst in the past few months.
He says a the quick response by works crews reduced any property damage due to flooding.
Berkvens says staff have started excavating to determine the required repairs and have not been able to pinpoint a cause.
Colborne Rd. from Rosedale Ave. to Hall St. is closed until repairs are complete.
Traffic was being detoured onto Rosedale Ave. and Guthrie Dr. W.
