Lambton OPP say 25 charges were laid locally in last week's province-wide "Operation Safe Trucking" enforcement blitz.
Constable Chris Doupe says 78 commercial vehicles were checked resulting in 13 charges for speeding and seven for following too close.
There were two seat belt infractions, two distracted driving charges and one charge of failing to move to the left for an emergency vehicle.
The provincial police launched an initiative after responding to over 6,200 transport truck-related crashes from January 1 to December 8, of this year.
A total of 87 lives were lost in 72 of those collisions.
